K4F8E3S4HD is Samsung’s 8 Gb LPDDR4 mobile SDRAM on a 200-FBGA 10 × 15 mm package. This datasheet covers the ordering family printed as GF(H)CL, i.e. the two order codes -GFCL and -GHCL that the §3.0 ordering table prints side by side and that differ only in rated temperature. Note for procurement: GF(H)CL is the document’s shorthand, not an orderable part number — bills of material, purchase orders and PCB silkscreen must carry the full order code -GFCL or -GHCL.

Key figures

  • Density and organisation: the cover prints “8Gb LPDDR4 SDRAM” with “32Mb x16DQ x8banks x2channels”, and §2.0 prints the same identity as “8G = 32M x16DQ x8banks x2channels”. Our arithmetic: 32M × 16 = 4 Gb per channel, × 2 channels = 8 Gb. §1.0 spells the per-channel side of that out as “Organization per channel x16” and “# of Bank per channel 8”, while the §3.0 decode strip gives the device-level code “3S : x32 (Mono LPDDR4)” — one x32 device read as two x16 channels.
  • Channel composition — printed, not resolved by us: §2.0 lists “1channel composition per die”, and the revision history records that line being changed from 2 channel to 1 channel per die at Rev 1.0. The cover identity still prints “x2channels” and the §3.0 ordering table prints the organisation column as “2Ch” and “x16/Ch”. We reproduce both readings; the arithmetic above is ours and we do not pick one side for Samsung.
  • Data rate: §1.0 feature table prints “Speed bin [Mbps] 3200/3733/4266”; §3.0 prints “4266Mbps (tCK=0.468ns)” for this family and notes “4266Mbps is backward compatible to lower frequency.”
  • Supplies: §2.0 prints “VDD1/VDD2/VDDQ : 1.8V/1.1V/1.1V”, and the §3.0 decode strip prints the same interface code as “H : LVSTL_11, 1.8V / 1.1V/1.1V”; §1.0 prints “I/O Interface LVSTL_11”.
  • Interface naming — printed, not resolved by us: the §3.0 ordering table’s Interface column prints “LVSTLE_06”, whereas §1.0, §2.0 and the decode strip on the ordering page itself all print LVSTL_11 together with VDDQ at 1.1 V. We carry the printed supply voltages in the field above and reproduce the odd string here verbatim instead of choosing between them.
  • Package: the cover and §2.0 print “200FBGA, 10×15”; the decode strip expands the package letter as “G : 200-FBGA(410um, SAC302, Ni/Au)”.
  • Absolute maximum ratings (§7.0): the table prints “Tstg [°C] -55 ~ 125”. The Rev 1.3 row of the revision history records “VDD2/VDDQ/VIN,VOUT MAX : 1.5 -> 1.4 [V]”, i.e. this limit was tightened by 0.1 V when the table was updated on May 17th, 2021 — check which revision your design was validated against.

Ordering variants

The §3.0 ordering table prints two order codes that share every column except the rated temperature, and this page documents both:

  • K4F8E3S4HD-GFCL — temperature/power code F, printed range -40 ~ 95, i.e. -40°C to +95°C.
  • K4F8E3S4HD-GHCL — temperature/power code H, printed range -40 ~ 105, i.e. -40°C to +105°C.

The decode strip on the same page gives the two letters out again (“F : -40°C ~ 95°C” / “H : -40°C ~ 105°C”). The two ranges are not interchangeable, so select by the printed suffix; apart from the rated temperature the table prints no other difference between the two codes.

What this document says about grade

The temperature/power letter is printed here only as an operating range. The document carries no reliability-qualification standard, no grade statement, and no certification body or qualification result anywhere in its 107 pages. Its running header line and its legal page carry an application-target line and a clause stating that the product is not designated for that class of use unless named in writing by the manufacturer; neither is a qualification, and this page reproduces neither string. We publish only the printed operating ranges and assert no grade qualification. Every page of our copy carries a manufacturer CONFIDENTIAL marking and the copy additionally carries a named manufacturer contact e-mail inside §3.0 — that is a channel-flow trace, not manufacturer provenance, so we note it rather than reprint it. This contradiction is tracked as N267.

Lifecycle status

The Lifecycle row above is deliberately left blank: this datasheet (Rev. 1.3, May. 2021) is a technical specification and states no product status of any kind. On the manufacturer’s public side we have only been able to verify the LPDDR4 category page, not a reachable per-code product page for either order code, and third-party catalogue listings are not an acceptable on-page source under this site’s rules. So this page makes no product-status claim — Active or otherwise — and the gap is tracked as N268 until a manufacturer status notice or a verifiable per-code manufacturer page is obtained.

Provenance

Every figure above is taken from Samsung LPDDR4 SDRAM Datasheet Rev. 1.3, May. 2021 (107 pages · K4F8E3S4HD-GFCL / -GHCL · CONFIDENTIAL · the body embeds a named original-vendor contact email), a channel-local copy whose PDF /Info identifies a Samsung-internal FrameMaker/Distiller production file (with a later iText save) and no aggregator watermark. No byte-identical manufacturer-hosted public copy has been verified, so the manufacturer datasheet button is left unpopulated and we do not host the file.

Who makes it
